Virginia Living magazine recently announced the results of their annual “Best of Virginia” contest, and CASA CIS ranked as number two in the “Best Annual Charity Event” category. The contest, spanning 106 categories, tallies submissions from individuals throughout Virginia.
“It was very exciting to hear that we were nominated, and that people are so supportive of our signature event, Evening Under the Stars, now in its 20th year,” said CASA CIS Executive Director Pamela Ryan. “Receiving this honor is also a wonderful opportunity to reach Virginia Living readers that may not be aware of the Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) program, and the work that 28 CASA programs throughout Virginia do in support of abused and neglected children. We’re excited that this announcement helps us raise awareness of CASA, and hope that people reach out to their local CASA program to learn more about becoming a volunteer advocate, and other ways to get involved.”
